Days 14 & 15: We Were Past Halfway, Then We Weren’t Anymore, and Then it was Good Friday.

My previous pets control post has reached many people according to FB, but the stats on WordPress paint a different picture. I’m not complaining, merely stating a fact. Everyone that took part in the challenge – thank you! Your pets not only touched my heart, but those of many of my readers. Charles from work read the post, and sent this pic of his wannabee-lockdown-escapee, Tash, to me. I told him I’d include her in my next post, so here she is, in all her attempted-breakout glory.

COVID-19: Fears Hiding Behind the Funnies

I often used to be one that had an egg to lay about current events. Once I relapsed I stopped listening to the news on the radio and well, I don’t watch mainstream TV often. The only time I ever watch the evening news is if I’m with The Toppie and The Bean, and that isn’t often. I spend some of my lunch times with them, or stop by for a cup of tea after work, but I’m home by the time the sun sets because I have work to do.

The #CoronaVirus has hit the world hard, and as much as we’d like to deny it, everyone is scared. Sure, the memes going around are funny, but the fact remains, this is a pandemic. The first since the Spanish Flu a hundred years ago, the cholera outbreak a century before that, and the plague a century before that. Whatever Higher Power you believe in, there’s a mass clean-up-cyclone happening, and we’re in the eye of the storm

2020 is Here

New year, new decade…no resolutions, just goals:

Blog more and grow my blog and Facebook following.  My dream is to establish Reflections of a Misfit as a brand of sorts.

Drink more water and get some sun, because according to some memes, I’m nothing more than a houseplant with complicated emotions.

I’ve already decided what the theme for my birthday, which is nine months and twenty days away, is going to be.  I would love to say that it came to me in a dream, but the truth is that a friend shared something on WhatsApp that spurned the wheels of creativity.

Survival of the (Un)Fittest

I survived last night’s personal training with Steve.  Barely!  I am stiff in places I’ve never had places before.  I am grateful that we only did upper body last night, because if we’d done legs as well, my gait would have surely rivalled that of John Wayne.

Food wise, I still not hungry. And I’m still craving cake. And freshly brewed rooibos tea – which I’d make if I could lift the kettle!  On Thursday evening I shall detach my legs from the rest of my body and send them to the gym on their own.

Seriously, if I don’t have a banging hot body after the ten sessions I’ve paid for, I’m going to eat an entire New York baked cheesecake in a single sitting.
