I have been reflectively pensive or pensively reflective of late, depending on what side of the two-way mirror you find yourself on. But for the most part, it is not a bad thing. Hindsight is, after all, perfect 20-20 vision. However, this is not going to be a reflective/pensive post…this is simply going to be a post of what happened this past weekend.
Friday night I got all toffed up to accompany the most handsome man I know (my dad) to a function at the casino. Mom wasn’t feeling up to going, and well, I love dressing up, so it didn’t take much convincing.
The theme was “Winter Wonderland” and well, it was just that…
I do however admit, that it is seriously time to get back into the gym and tone up my back and arms. This dress would look even better when I’m in shape. Today is the day… the bag is already in the car so I’m off to the gym straight after work. #BOOM
Saturday the morning started with a bit of history in the making (and a bit of a buzz from all the bubbly consumed at the function). Our Herbalife line hosted their first official Business Building Seminar (BBS) in Mossel Bay and it was well attended and full of energy. There is something about this group of people that just charges my batteries. I have not only found colleagues in them, or even friends, but family. I am so #grateful for the opportunities this company has given me and for the opportunities it gives me to help others.
Afterwards I had cocktails with one of my “heart sisters” Tammy – we caught up on one another’s news and well, let’s just say, there is never a dull moment between us.
I spent the rest of the weekend with my childhood best friend Shayla-Rae at the farm where she grew up. She actually invited me to put me to work, but the physical labour aside, being on the farm has its benefits, like wide open spaces…
fresh air and the most awe-inspiring sunsets and (if I am actually awake at the crack of dawn), sunrises…
There is also always the joy of getting to bottle-feed an orphaned lamb. (Forgive the haziness on the photo of me…that is mist!)
All in all it has been a fun weekend – with both hard work, and play. Just what the doctor ordered. Tomorrow is Youth Day (national holiday) in SA, so no work. There is something super about getting to sleep in on a “work” day. Hope you all have an amazing week!
