Saturday morning as I merrily climbed into the shower, I noticed a few spots on my tummy which I thought was the start of a heat rash. Well, it wasn’t a heat rash, because it decided to spread a bit and by Saturday night it was all over my tummy and on my back and slowly making an appearance on my arms!
My first thought was measles – the only child sickness that I haven’t had, so I trotted off to the doctor early on Monday morning to be told that it doesn’t look like measles to him – but he can’t really be sure what it is. Nice! R264.00 later and still no definite answer. He has prescribed antihistamines, which seem to help, but I’m still not convinced it is an allergy. I have even ditched my birth control pill to eliminate it as the culprit. If it doesn’t clear up soon, I will definitely have to get a second opinion. Who knows, maybe it is just a reaction to the stress of still not having heard about a job yet…
On other things – my folks are leaving in the camper tomorrow for an extended weekend at the Bontebok National Park just outside of Swellendam. Aunty Carol and Uncle Barry are going to be joining them on Friday. Everyone is looking forward to the trip. I’m sure there will be quite a few pics to share upon their return.
That’s about it for the moment – I’m going to find myself some lunch and then drink my little yellow anti-rash pills.
